Who I am

Hi, I'm Bach. The photo above is from January 2026, at the Vietnam Youth Theatre. Three days before the show, I was invited to perform “The Winner Takes It All” solo. I said yes.

I grew up in Hanoi, and it all started when I was seven. My father took me to a music center for an assessment, and they told us I had a good ear. Twelve years later, I'm in a four-year program at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, which I'll finish in 2027, and I've passed Trinity College London's Grade 8 in classical piano, with Merit.

The biggest turn came when I met two professionals: a producer, and a sound director who works on live events. They helped me see a future in this field. One of them explained that as Vietnam's music industry grows, it needs producers with proper training. Those conversations, and a passion I've carried since childhood, are why I chose production.

Outside the studio, I love airplanes and anything about aviation, and I'm really into photography. I learn from my playlist: G-Dragon for blending genres without losing his identity, Sia for choruses that hit hard and still feel personal, and Calvin Harris for showing how far a simple hook can go.

What's next

I want to become a producer first, and over time grow into a music director, collaborating with artists on recordings, films and live shows. Love Letters gave me a first taste of that role, and it was the part of this year I enjoyed most.

To get there, I need what I can't learn alone at home: structured training in production software, a deeper understanding of how to develop a musical idea, and stronger listening, arranging and decision-making, the core of the job.

After university, my plan is to bring that training back to Vietnam, work with local artists, and help Vietnamese music reach listeners around the world.
